Freedom Fridays

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our FREEDOM with the blood of his son and forgave our sins. (Ephesians 1:7)

About a year ago I had a realization about the difference between Freewill and Freedom. I thought I had discovered the crown jewel of following Jesus and I had to tell everyone about it. The more I learned about the Freedom we have in Jesus the more I realized everyone already knew about it. LOL How in the world had I missed this for so long? So, naturally I shut all things down and decided I was the worst Christian on earth and had no business sharing any kind of Jesus with anyone.

But God. After months and months of life I asked myself, Am I the only one who missed the mark on the Freedom thing? Certainly not. In all things I am average. I always have been. So if I, the average woman, have missed the freedom that Jesus gives then certainly there are other woman who have missed it too.

Let us share in the freedom that God has given us through Christ…..

We have freedom from our children’s future

Have you ever laid in bed at night wondering and worrying about your child’s future? I have, like a lot. I began to feel bound up by the pressure of raising my kids in a world full of hardships. I hope this four part series on How we have freedom from our children’s future and What we can do to lay a foundation of peace for our children will encourage you. And just a note, these are not things I claim to have mastered but instead things I have to remind myself all the time.

Part 1: They don’t belong to us (June 5, 2020)

Ephesians 6:1 – Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord…

Part 2 : We aren’t in it alone (June 12,2020)

Isaiah 54:13 – All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.

Part 3: We must give our own lives to Jesus (June 6, 2020)

James 4:1-10 -The freedom that comes from repentance is the sweetest kind of Freedom

Part 4: Pray, Read, Repeat (July 3, 2020)

We must read the word of God so often our prayers grow legs

It’s Freedom Friday! The twins have a message today about things we can do to remember that we have freedom through Christ.

What can we do to remember we have freedom through Christ.

May 1, 2020

We have freedom from our own desires. Oh the desires of our hearts. How they deceive us. When we delight our selves in the Lord, He gives us our hearts desires. In other words, When we delight ourselves in the Lord, our desires align with his will. That is when true fulfillment of our desires happens.

We have freedom from our own desires.

We have freedom from “Joy in the now”. James 1:2-3 says, “Dear Brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”

Opportunity is the key word here. Opportunity is a set of circumstances that makes it possible for something. James is not telling us to Grin and bare it, He is saying this difficult time is an opportunity for joy to come.

We have freedom from our feelings! This season of being quaretined and not knowing when all o this will end is tough. It is easy to rely on how are feeling in this time but let’s lean on what we know about God instead. Lean into Jesus.

March 27, 2020

This pandemic is hard. Hang in there sisters. You have freedom from all the things!

Freedom from all the things.

March 20, 2020

When you have found freedom by giving into your desires rather than surrendering them to the Lord, that sister, is not freedom at all.

March 13, 2020

We have freedom from The Corona Virus!

Through Christ our future is secure. Use this time to share the good news with others.

March 6, 2020

We have Freedom from our PAST through Christ.

” I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.” -Pillippians 3:12-14

Isn’t it hard sometimes, to be left alone with our past? What we did. What we didn’t do. What we don’t think we can do now because of what we did in the past. Who we thought we were is so ingrained in us that we can’t fathom being anyone different. We feel like a fraud.

We have Freedom from REGRET through Christ.

We have Freedom from THIS WORLD through Christ.

Everything in this world is fleeting. We are here one day and gone the next. All that our culture tells us is important is NOT. When we set our mind to eternal things our Freedom is fullfilled here on earth.
